Lighting Control and Motorized Shades

We design and install Lutron and Control4 lighting control and motorized shades for homes all over the greater Phoenix area. One button replaces a wall of switches, schedules follow the sun, and the shades handle the one thing Arizona is never short on.

• Scenes: one button for "Entertain", "Cooking", "Movie" or "Goodnight" instead of walking a wall of dimmers.
• Schedules: exterior lights that follow sunset all year on an astronomic clock, path lighting that meets you at 5 am, and everything off at midnight.
• Away modes: the lights keep your normal evening pattern while you travel, so the house never advertises an empty summer.
• Keypads: engraved buttons where the switch banks used to be. That is the difference between a smart house and a house full of apps.
• Dimming everywhere: better looking rooms, longer fixture life, less energy used.

Here, sun control is climate control. West-facing glass is a heat problem every afternoon, and motorized shades deal with it on their own: tracking the sun through the day, dropping before the afternoon load hits, keeping UV off your floors and furniture, then opening back up for the evening.

You can go light-filtering solar shades that keep the view, or blackout in bedrooms and theaters. The shades join the same scenes as the lights, so "Movie" dims the room and drops the shades in one press.

• Existing homes: wireless Lutron and Control4 dimmers and keypads go in where your current switches are, no rewiring. Shades come wired or battery, so existing windows are not a problem.
• New builds and remodels: panelized or centralized lighting, low-voltage keypad wiring, and shade power at the headers, all drawn before drywall. This is the moment lighting and shades get dramatically cheaper to do right, and our prewire page covers it.

Lutron lighting and shades and Control4 native lighting are the core, and we install Crestron motorized shades as well. All of it works inside a Control4 smart home, or stands on its own.

• Design walk: we walk the rooms and the windows, note the sun exposure, and scope what actually earns automation.
• Fixed proposal by room and by window, signed by an owner.
• Install: clean device swaps on a retrofit, coordinated rough-in on new construction.
• Programming and scenes: we set them with you, then tune them once you have lived with them for a bit.
