What does Mesa's housing stock mean for a smart home project?

Mesa covers a wide range of construction, and the right system depends on which part of the city you are in.

Eastmark and other newer master planned communities on the east side are almost entirely new construction, which means prewire is on the table. Wiring the network, audio, and camera backbone before drywall goes up is the cheapest way to end up with a system that performs, and it avoids retrofitting a brand new house.
Las Sendas and the areas near Red Mountain sit on larger hillside lots with more custom architecture, longer driveways, and more exterior square footage to cover for WiFi and cameras. These homes usually need a more deliberate access point plan and exterior camera positions chosen for the terrain.
Dobson Ranch and the established neighborhoods around it are mostly retrofit territory: homes from the 80s and 90s with block wall construction that fights WiFi and often has genuinely good attic access, which makes wired upgrades more practical than people expect.
