What does Sony do well?

Sony builds both ends of the display: native 4K laser projectors for dedicated theaters, and Bravia televisions for media rooms, great rooms and patios. The projectors use Sony's own SXRD imaging panels, which are natively 4K rather than a smaller panel shifted quickly to fill a 4K frame, and a laser light source, so there is no lamp to swap out on a schedule. On the television side, the part installers notice is the processing. Sony handles motion and upscaling well on ordinary cable and streaming content, not only on reference material, and that is what a family actually watches most nights. Both product lines are built to be calibrated and to sit inside a controlled system instead of running on whatever the factory picture mode was set to in the showroom.

Screen size and seating distance get worked out first. Light control gets handled with shades or blackout treatment. Equipment lands in a ventilated, surge protected rack with the wiring run and labeled. Then the display joins the control system, so one button dims the lights, closes the shades and starts the movie. Sound is designed alongside the picture, not bolted on afterward. Two things about homes here shape a Sony install. Great rooms in the greater Phoenix area carry a lot of glass and a lot of hard afternoon light, so a bright Bravia panel plus motorized shades almost always beats a projector in a room that is not dedicated to viewing. A dedicated theater in a Valley home, on the other hand, is usually a converted interior room with no windows in it at all, and that is exactly where a native 4K laser projector on a properly sized screen earns its place. The third factor is heat. Racks that live in a closet or a garage need real ventilation to survive an Arizona summer, and we plan the equipment location and airflow on every install rather than discovering the problem in July.

Should I get a Sony projector or a Sony television?

It comes down to light control. A dedicated room you can darken is projector territory, and a great room or media room with real windows in it wants a television. We look at the room before recommending either one.

Do Sony laser projectors need a lamp change?

No. The current Sony home theater projectors use a laser light source, so there is no lamp to replace on a schedule. Filters and calibration are still part of normal service.

Can you install a Sony display in a house we already live in?

Yes. New construction gives us the easiest wire paths, but most of the Sony installs we do are in finished homes, using attic and wall access to get the wiring where it needs to go.

Does a Sony display work with a Control4 system?

Yes. Power, input switching and volume all fold into the control system, so the display, the lighting scene and the shades move together on one button press instead of three remotes.
